The Indian Cultural Congress (ICC) is a gathering of voices, memories, and imaginations that shape the living fabric of Indian culture. Conceived as India’s first national cultural congress, ICC affirms the enduring values of culture, dialogue, fraternity, equality, and peace, creating a shared space where diverse traditions meet, converse, and evolve.

Set in Ernakulam, Kerala, from 20 to 22 December 2025, the inaugural Indian Cultural Congress unfolds in a land known for its openness, intellectual vitality, and cultural depth. Supported by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, the Congress brings together artists, thinkers, and cultural practitioners to reflect on the past, engage with the present, and imagine a more inclusive cultural future.

At its heart, the Indian Cultural Congress is an act of listening. It foregrounds voices often pushed to the margins—transgender and differently-abled performers, minority social collectives, and diverse linguistic traditions—and affirms culture as a space of dignity, empathy, and shared belonging. Through dialogue and artistic expression, ICC celebrates pluralism not as an idea, but as a lived experience.

Our Vision

To nurture a cultural space where India’s many voices can meet in dialogue, creativity, and mutual respect. The Indian Cultural Congress envisions a society where cultural diversity is not merely acknowledged but celebrated as a shared inheritance—one that transcends divisions of language, region, belief, and identity.

We aspire to strengthen cultural pluralism through open exchange, artistic freedom, and inclusive participation, affirming culture as a force for equality, fraternity, and peace. By bringing together traditions, contemporary expressions, and marginalised voices, the Congress seeks to imagine a cultural future rooted in dignity, empathy, and democratic values.
